12/26…10:42 am…Zone 5…Cheyenne Mtn Blvd/at Old Broadmoor Road…While on patrol, BIS Officer observed a WM, late 20s, wearing a red plaid shirt, black pants, tan hat with a black backpack and carrying a blue sleeping bag. Male was observed walking from Cheyenne Mountain Blvd south onto Sequoyah Road. Male was contacted after dropping the sleeping bag and walking in circles around the bag. Male stated he was okay and that he was going to climb Cheyenne Mountain. Male was given directions to Cheyenne Mountain State Park and advised to stay off private property, male was watched walking east on Cheyenne Mountain Blvd and out of the area.

12/30…2:43 am…Zone 2…Elm Ave…While on patrol, BIS Officer observed what appeared to be a suspicious vehicle parked on the street in front of a member’s house. White older model Chevy Silverado regular cab truck with CO plates occupied by one person. BIS Officer parked at 5th Street and Elm Ave and watched the vehicle several minutes before the driver drove to 6th Street and Lake Ave. Driver sat for several minutes with the turn signal on but not moving. Traffic was very light. BIS Officer drove around Broadmoor Ave to 5th Street and the vehicle was gone. Area checked with no contact, could not locate the truck again, not seen in the area before. License plate logged for future reference if needed.

 

12/31…2:58 am…Zone 8…Marland Road…BIS Officer received a call from a member who was awakened by a vehicle in the member's driveway with its headlights shining into the member's house. Vehicle backed out of the driveway after member turned on outside lights. Driver of the vehicle parked on the street in front of the house for a minute or two before driving off at a high rate of speed towards Marland Road South. BIS officer arrived in the area at 3:09 am and checked the area, no vehicles found in the immediate area. At 3:15 am the BIS Officer observed a vehicle near Broadmoor Elementary turning onto Marland Road. Vehicle was seen driving at a high rate of speed onto Crossland Road before abruptly stopping and turning around in the street. Vehicle was an early 2000’s model Toyota Corolla station wagon (or similar type) with CO plates. Vehicle had old damage to the right front fender and the passenger side headlight was dimmer than the driver’s side headlight. Vehicle was occupied by the driver only. Vehicle drove back to Marland Road still driving at a high rate of speed and then west on Marland Road to Cheyenne Mountain Blvd to Old Stage Road. BIS Officer logged the license plate for future reference and monitored the area the remainder of the night. No further incidents reported, or contact was had with the vehicle. Information shared with all Officers.
