1/8…10:39 am…Zone 4…Strickler Road: Received a call from a BIS member about a homeless female wearing white pants, black top, approximately 5’6” tall with long brown hair. BIS officer arrived at 10:45 am and contacted the described female who appeared to be homeless, possibly impaired, and was ranting loudly, possibly hallucinating about seeing family members. The officer assessed the female’s condition and directed her toward homeless services nearby. The officer remained and monitored the person until she left the area. Female was last seen walking out of the area towards Nevada Ave.

1/8…5:20 pm…Zone 8…Northgate Road: Report of a storage shed burglary at a member's residence. Burglary occurred either on January 7th or early morning of January 8th. Generator and bicycle taken, no suspect information. Small footprints observed in snow around the member's residence. Officer recommended notification to CSPD.

1/8…9:39 pm…Zone 7…Broadmoor Ave: Received a call from a BIS member reporting a suspicious vehicle and individuals. Member reported seeing a white minivan stop on the street and saw two males and one female, 25-30 years old, walk to the front door of a residence across the street from the member's house. When the member yelled at them, they ran back to the vehicle and were last seen driving towards Lake Ave. BIS officer arrived at 9:45 pm and began checking numerous streets in zones 2, 5, and 7 with no contact. No other calls were received. The officer cleared at 9:55 pm.

1/8…10:07 pm…Zone 2…Berthe Circle: Received a call from a BIS member reporting 1 WM and 1 WF ran up to the member's front door while another WM stood in the driveway. The three individuals ran back to a vehicle parked on the street, leaving behind a poem and flower at the door. BIS officer arrived at 10:12 pm and observed a vehicle that matched the description from the earlier call on Broadmoor Ave at 9:39 pm. This vehicle drove to an address on Springridge Drive and BIS Officer followed. BIS officer observed a grey VW SUV with CO plates stop and the BIS Officer observed two WF’s standing in the driveway on Springridge Drive. Both ran to the VW SUV. The females looked like the individuals on the Ring doorbell footage shared by the member on Berthe Circle. The VW SUV left the area going East on Lake Ave passing Strickler Road. Non-members where the vehicle was parked on Springridge were contacted and advised the BIS Officer it was their daughter and some friends. Officer cleared at 10:35 pm. The BIS officer went to the original address on Broadmoor Ave and found a poem placed on the porch, similar to the one at Berthe Circle. Note: similar poems, or notes with flowers or pine cones were also reported on Alta Vista Drive later that same evening. Ring doorbell footage from Alta Vista indicated possibly same female. No property damaged by subjects. Information logged for all Officers to be on the lookout for subjects and for similar incidents.

1/10…Nothing reported.

1/11…9:28 pm…Zone 10…Plainview Road: Received a call from a BIS member regarding a small dark colored sedan, possibly a Toyota, driving up and down the street, occupied by a male. The BIS officer arrived at 9:32 pm but did not see any vehicles in the area. Tire tracks in the snow indicated that a vehicle attempted to drive up the road but was unable to make it up the slight grade due to the snow and icy conditions. Officer checked several streets in the area for any stuck vehicles. No vehicles or individuals found needing help. The reporting member was called back and advised no one was in the area. Officer cleared at 9:42 pm.

1/12…5:58 pm…Zone 3…Rainbow Place: Received a call from a non-BIS member regarding a homeless male who has been in the area for the last few weeks sleeping on private property. Residents in the area have contacted this male who leaves the area but returns later. Described as a male wearing dark clothing, dark colored shorts and leggings/sweatpants and wearing/carrying a backpack. Last seen this evening. Residents are concerned that he is sleeping in a greenhouse on a non-BIS member’s property or in the area. Non-member was assured that BIS officers would be on the lookout for the male. Information was passed by BIS Officer to CSPD’s Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) for their follow-up. Unknown action or disposition by CSPD at this time. Chief Trostel shared additional information with HOT leader and BIS Liaison, Sgt. Olav Chaney 01-13-25.

1/12…9:36 pm…Zone 1…Mesa Ave: Received a call from a BIS member reporting a suspicious male in the area. Member reported seeing a male wearing black pants, black jacket with a black hoodie underneath the jacket and wearing white snow type boots. Male was looking down at the street and did not look up at passing vehicles. Member was unsure the male was homeless as he had no items or backpacks/bags with him. Male possibly needed assistance. BIS Officer responded and arrived in the area at 9:40 pm. Checked the area but was unable to locate the suspicious male. Continued to monitor the area the remainder of the night. Broadmoor Hotel security called the BIS office number at 3:12 am and left a voice message stating they had contacted a homeless male twice on their property this morning. BIS officer contacted hotel security who advised they contacted the previously described suspicious male on Lake Circle at 12:31 am and again at 2:55 am behind a loading dock. Male did not say anything and appeared to be possibly under the influence of something according to hotel security. He was escorted off the hotel property twice with no problems. Hotel security reported he was last seen walking east on Lake Ave. No other calls received about this male. BIS Officer continued to check the area, but no contact made with suspicious male. Logged incident for information sharing with all BIS Officers.
