10/9…9:17 am…Zone 7…Second Street: BIS member called about a suspicious vehicle parked across the street from their driveway. Described as a black Chevy Suburban with dark tinted windows, with a red and white license plate. BIS officer arrived at 9:21 am and observed the described vehicle parked and occupied by a male driver who appeared to be on his cell phone talking. Nothing otherwise unusual was observed. Reporting member was called back and advised of the activity of the male inside the vehicle. BIS Officer continued patrol but checked back at 9:55 am and the vehicle was still parked at the same location. Male driver was still on his cell phone. Later the Officer drove through the area again. The vehicle was gone at 11:40 am. Nothing else in the area reported.
10/9…2:00 pm…Zone 9…Hermitage Drive: Received a call from a BIS member about an aggressive man - possibly a Colorado Springs Utilities employee banging on the front door in an agitated manner and looking into the windows of the member's residence. The reporting member stated that the male left the property at approximately 2:08 pm, just prior to the officer’s arrival. Male was driving a Ford super duty truck. Member reported that he contacted the male as he was leaving the member's property. The aggressive male identified himself only as “FS-94”. The BIS officer checked the area and observed the described truck parked on Old Stage Road and Menary Way. The vehicle was marked as a Colorado Springs Utilities vehicle. The Utilities worker was contacted by the BIS Officer but refused to give his name or identification, etc. The worker also denied pounding aggressively on the member's door or looking into the windows at the residence. The BIS officer cleared the contact at 2:25 pm. BIS officer then contacted the Colorado Springs Utilities Supervisor, and the information was passed on about the incident. The Supervisor stated the employee would be contacted and the incident addressed with him. The reporting member was contacted by the BIS Officer and advised of the disposition of the incident.
10/10…3:35 pm…Zone 8…Marland Road…BIS Officer received a call regarding a burglar alarm from Advanced Alarm at a BIS member’s residence. Alarm reported to be coming from the garage door. BIS officer arrived at 3:38 pm and contacted the housekeeper at the residence. Nothing unusual was observed by the officer. Possible accidental activation of the alarm. The member was notified all was okay. The officer cleared at 3:41 pm.
10/11…5:30 am…Zone 7…Berthe Circle…While a BIS Officer was at a member’s house conducting a security check, he was approached by a homeless appearing female wrapped in a blue blanket. Officer questioned the possibly homeless female about her presence on the member's private property. The female stated she lived at the residence and asked for the key to the house. The female was questioned further but could not provide any credible information. The officer instructed her to leave and advised her of the consequences of trespassing. Officer observed the female leave the property and she was seen walking towards Lake Avenue. Officer cleared at 5:40 am. Officer recorded the female's description and resumed patrol. The subject’s information was relayed to other shift officers.
10/11…7:10 pm…Zone 7…Berthe Circle…While performing a security check of a member’s residence, a BIS officer contacted a homeless WF, 5’9” tall, with long brown hair wearing black jeans, black sweater and a black pin stripe suit jacket. The homeless female asked the Officer, “did you get my key yet?" The Officer informed the homeless female she was trespassing and as he escorted her off the property, the female stated, “he bought this house for me”. This was the same female that was contacted at the same address earlier that morning by the day shift officer. Officer observed the homeless female walking East on Lake Ave and appeared to be leaving the Broadmoor area. The officer cleared at 7:36 pm.
10/11…9:32 pm…Zone 7…Lake Avenue…BIS Officer received a call from a BIS member about a homeless female at the Cheyenne Mountain Country Club. The description of the homeless female matched that of the female contacted twice before on Berthe Circle earlier that day. BIS officer arrived at 9:42 pm and contacted the CMCC staff inside the building. Staff reported that the female came inside the building and demanded food and water. She was asked to leave. The homeless female left the building and was contacted by the CMCC Manager as she sat on the curb at the entrance to the property. Upon being told she was on private property; she cursed at the manager and then she left, walking East on Lake Ave. The BIS officer observed her walking on Lake Avenue between Fifth Street and Sixth Street. The Officer parked at the community church to watch and determine if the female would continue walking out of the area. After several minutes, the officer lost sight of the female so he began patrolling side streets in an attempt to relocate her but was unable to find her again. Officer proceeded to check streets in zones 3 and 4 with no contact. No other calls were received. The officer cleared at 10:00 pm.
10/12…12:17 am…Zone 7…Old Broadmoor Road and Lake Ave…Same homeless female the BIS Officer had observed earlier was sitting on the sidewalk at the SW corner of the roundabout. Female was wrapped up in a black Pittsburgh Steelers blanket. She was contacted by the BIS officer, and she stated she was waiting for a friend to pick her up. She also stated that she “wanted her money back from her house” and began cursing at the BIS officer. The officer observed a half empty liquor bottle next to her which she attempted to hide. The Officer, concerned for her safety, called CSPD and description information, her location and a synopsis of the several contacts/trespassing incidents BIS had with her in the last several hours were relayed. CSPD call taker stated officers would be sent when available. BIS officer cleared and resumed patrols. BIS Officer received another call at 1:00 am from a member that a possibly homeless female (matching description of previously contacted female) was at Pourtales Road and Mirada Road. Reporting member stated she asked the female if she was okay and the female responded that she wanted a ride to the Days Inn. Member further reported that at that time a white Chevy Impala with CO plates drove up, occupied by a WM with a beard, no further description. Male could be heard saying he was giving her a ride and she got into the vehicle. Member reported the vehicle was last seen driving West on Mirada Road. The BIS officer called CSPD and passed on the updated information, then checked the area for the vehicle. No vehicles matching the description were seen and no contact was made. The officer cleared at 1:10 am.
