12/11…8:06 am…Zone 3…Bear Paw Lane: Received a burglar alarm call at a BIS member's house from Advanced Alarm. BIS officer arrived at 8:12 am. Exterior of the house was completely checked. No signs of attempted entry or other property damage. All doors and windows were secured. No vehicles or individuals observed in the area. Attempted contact with BIS member, message left. The officer cleared the call at 8:29 am.
12/12…2:33 pm…Zone 9…Old Stage Road: Received a call from a BIS member regarding possible gunshots coming from the area of Old Stage Road. The BIS Officer checked the area. No vehicles or people, or other gunshots were observed or heard in the area. No other calls were received. The officer contacted the reporting BIS member and informed them of the search results. Officer cleared at 3:21 pm.
12/13…8:20 pm…Zone 8…Marland Road: BIS officer observed a broken water line in the backyard of a non-member. The officer contacted the elderly resident who thanked us for letting her know. She stated she was aware of the broken line and was being taken care of. No need to call city utilities since it was on a private road. Officer cleared at 8:25 pm.
12/14…9:15 am…Zone 7…Lake Ave: Received a call from an area resident (unknown if member) reporting a suspicious male described as an older white male wearing all black clothing, black backpack and a flame thrower with a hose and tank, near the Broadmoor Community Church area. The reporting party stated they had also called the Colorado Springs Police Department. The BIS officer arrived in the area at 9:26 am and began checking numerous streets around Lake Ave and Old Broadmoor Road. A CSPD vehicle arrived at 9:49 am at the church. Suspicious male matching the description was not seen in the area. No other calls were received. Officer cleared at 10 am but continued to monitor the area for the remainder of the day.
12/14…9:47 p m…Zone 5…Cheyenne Mountain Blvd: Received a call from a BIS member stating he saw three juvenile males wearing dark colored hoodies and some type of masks, that were last seen running out of the cul-de-sac towards Cheyenne Mountain Blvd. BIS officer arrived at 10:02 pm and observed three vehicles in the parking lot of Broadmoor Elementary School and 4-6 juvenile males and females nearby. One of the vehicles was a red Jeep Wrangler, but none of the juveniles matched the description of the three juvenile males observed by the BIS member. BIS Officer continued to patrol and search the area when a loud explosion/firework was heard, and vehicles were seen driving at a high rate of speed west on Marland Road.
Three juvenile females, 14-16 years old, were seen at nearly the same time as the explosion/firework on the corner of Cheyenne Mountain Blvd and Springridge Drive. All three were wearing black hoodies and flannel pajama pants. One of the females was wearing a white scarf or white cloth type mask over her mouth and nose. They were observed walking East on Springridge Drive. Although the 3 juveniles closely matched the description given by the BIS member they were not acting nervously or doing anything suspicious, just walking and talking. The BIS Officer did not contact the 3 juveniles at that time. While observing the 3 juvenile females, the BIS Officer received two calls from BIS members regarding the explosion/fireworks and the speeding vehicles. BIS officer checked the area of Marland Road, Crossland Road and Cheyenne Mountain Blvd. None of the vehicles from Broadmoor Elementary were located, and nothing was found damaged in the area. No other calls were received. Officer cleared at 10:31 pm.
