03/17...12:48 pm...Zone 10...Hermitage Drive: BIS received a call from Broadmoor Fire Dept. regarding a fire alarm at a member's residence. Members were not at home. The fire department requested garage and door codes for access. The BIS Officer responded and provided the needed information. Broadmoor Fire Dept. investigated and concluded it was a false alarm. BIS Officer locked up residence and left voice mail with information for member.
03/17...6:00 pm...Zone 5...El Encanto Drive: BIS Officer received a call from a member regarding a suspicious vehicle driving in the area. The vehicle is described as a black Volvo with WF driving. Officer responded and arrived at 6:13 pm. Officer patrolled the area for approximately 20 minutes in an attempt to locate the suspicious vehicle but was unable to do so. The BIS Officer notified the member. The officer cleared the call at 6:40 pm but patrolled and monitored the area throughout the evening and passed the information to the night shift Officer for extra patrols which were conducted throughout the night.

03/20...6:03 pm...Zone 10...Chase Lane: BIS Officer received a call from a non-member about a suspicious WM walking toward the zoo. Male described as wearing a dark, heavy coat with hood. WM appeared to be possibly lost and unfamiliar with the area. Officer responded and arrived at 6:09 pm. Officer patrolled the area but was unable to locate the suspicious male. Officer cleared the area to respond to another call for service in Zone 2 near Red Wing Terrace at 6:24 pm.
03/20...6:24 pm...Zone 2...Red Wing Terrace area: BIS Officer received a call from a member about a suspicious vehicle parked in front of their residence. The vehicle is described as a white Dodge Dakota pickup with Colorado plates. Male driver was reported in the vehicle (no description given). The driver was approached by an area resident to inquire why he was in the area. The driver advised he was looking for work trimming trees. The driver and vehicle then left the area. The member requested BIS presence be visible to discourage any possible illegal activity associated with the suspicious vehicle. BIS Officer responded and arrived in the area at approximately 6:35 pm. Patrolled the area but was unable to locate the suspicious vehicle and driver. Officer cleared the call at 7:22 pm. Officer monitored the area the remainder of the shift and shared information with the BIS night shift officer who also patrolled the area.
03/20...7:30 pm...Zone 10...Mesa Avenue: BIS Officer observed a WM walking east on Mesa Ave. that matched the description of the suspicious male reported earlier in the Chase Lane area. WM was wearing a heavy dark blue coat with a fur lined hood. Appeared to be in his late 20's. BIS Officer made contact and interviewed the WM. The male did not appear to be impaired and spoke clearly and was articulate. WM stated he was headed to the Springs Rescue Center and inquired about work in the area. The officer gave the WM directions to the Rescue Center. The BIS Officer cleared the contact at 7:35 pm. The Officer then monitored the WM until he left the area walking East and North. Officer logged the WM description for future reference.
03/21...8:25 am...Zone 7... Lake Avenue: BIS Officer received a call from a member about a suspicious male walking west on Lake Avenue towards the Hotel. Suspicious male was described as a homeless appearing WM, approximately 5 foot 8 inches tall, wearing dark clothing, carrying a trash bag backpack. Officer arrived at 8:45 am and patrolled the area but was unable to locate the suspicious male. No other reports or calls were received. Officer cleared the call at 8:55 am.
03/22... 10:22 pm...Zone 1... Mesa Avenue... BIS Officer received a call from a member regarding a vehicle parked on Mesa Avenue near St. Paul's Church and School. The vehicle was described as a greenish Dodge car with Colorado plates. The vehicle was parked in an unusual location. Th vehicle had also been observed parked at this location one night the previous week. The BIS Officer had observed the vehicle earlier this date and had logged the vehicle description and information as it was parked in a location that - although in a legal parking zone - it was not typically used for vehicle parking and not the safest place at night due to the narrow roadway. BIS Officer monitored the vehicle throughout the night and discovered it had left the area sometime before 3:00 am. No other calls were received. Officer logged the vehicle description for future reference.
03/23...5:56 am...Zone 9 - Marland Road South: BIS Officer received a call from a member regarding a suspicious vehicle parked in an unusual and somewhat remote location on Marland Road South. The vehicle appeared to be occupied. Driver/vehicle possibly needed assistance. The officer responded and arrived in the area at approximately 6:15 am but was unable to locate the vehicle. The reporting party was informed vehicle had left the area. Officer cleared the call at 6:20 am.
