Officer Reports 5/27/24 to 6/2/24

5/27…7:58 am…Zone 6…Ivy Brook Lane and Childe Drive: BIS officer was flagged down by a female member at Broadmoor Hills Drive. She reported a possible homeless camp, across the street from Ivy Brook Lane. She had observed a red tent behind some bushes. BIS officer investigated and found a large red trash bag full of branches and pine needles at the location. Officer met with RP to follow up on Childe Drive and informed her it was a bag of trash - however a very large one. Officer cleared at 8:04 am.


5/28…7:28 am…Zone 5…Springmeadow Drive: BIS Officer received a call from a member about suspicious vehicles parked in the area. Vehicles described as a black van with stickers pasted all over and a white van, no plate numbers or further description given. The BIS officer arrived at 7:36 am and upon further investigation found that the vehicles belonged to some of the construction workers in the area replacing sidewalks and curbs. The member did not request a call back. Officer cleared 7:38 am. 


5/28…8:15 pm…Zone 4…Elm Ave and Sycamore Street: BIS Officer received a call from a non-member about an “ongoing domestic issue with an ex-boyfriend and a mentally unstable, drug addicted woman”. RP stated this has been ongoing for months. RP was advised to call CSPD immediately, no other information received or BIS involvement.


5/29…6:43 pm…Zone 1…Elm Ave and Second Street: BIS Officer received two calls (unknown if members or non-members) about a shirtless intoxicated male walking down Second Street near Elm Avenue yelling at people. BIS officer arrived at 6:48 pm and checked area thoroughly but was not able to locate the subject. No other calls received, Officer cleared at 7:02 pm but monitored area and patrolled area intermittently through remainder of night in attempt to locate subject. No further action taken.


5/30…2:42 pm…Zone 2…Lake Avenue and Seventh Street: BIS Officer received a call from a member about a suspicious WF with brown hair and a grey shirt, in the middle of the road dancing around and pretending to jump in front of passing vehicles. BIS Officer arrived at 2:45 pm, located and contacted the female. She denied jumping in front of vehicles and stated that she was in the area to appreciate the beauty. Subject further stated she lived off Highway 115 near Fort Carson. The subject did not appear intoxicated or in distress. Officer monitored female until she was observed leaving the area, walking east on Lake Ave. RP did not want a call back. Officer cleared at 2:49 pm.


5/31…3:03 pm…Zone 8…South Club Drive and Marland Road South: BIS Officer received a call from a non-member that a vehicle had run into a truck and trailer from behind and the vehicle was wedged under the trailer. Officer gave the RP the number for Broadmoor Fire Dept. and the BIS Officer called CSFD to aid with extrication if needed. No further action by BIS was needed.


6/1…10:43 pm…Zone 8…Marland Road: BIS Officer received a call from a member that a neighbor had called them and told them that a car alarm was going off in their driveway. Members were out of town. The member was concerned someone was possibly breaking into vehicles in their driveway. The BIS officer arrived at 10:50 pm and contacted the neighbor at the member's residence. No suspicious vehicles or individuals were observed by the Officer in the area. No sign of forced entry was made into the vehicles in the driveway of the member's residence. The exterior of the house was also checked, all doors and windows secure, no sign of attempted entry. The member was called back and advised everything was secure, BIS officer cleared at 11:09 pm.

 

6/1…11:56 pm…Zone 1…Third Street: BIS officer observed a black older model sedan with personalized CO plates, extremely dark tinted windows - with VOLVO in large white letters across the back window parked on Third Street between Lake Ave and Elm Ave with its hazard lights on. As the BIS officer started to approach the vehicle to see if the driver needed any assistance, the driver sped off on Elm Ave toward Seventh Street. Then, the vehicle was seen coming back traveling west on Lake Ave at a very high rate of speed. The vehicle was then last seen on Lake Circle driving towards Mesa Ave. BIS Officer continued to patrol the area and at 12:03 am observed the suspicious vehicle was back at the original location on Third Street. Upon seeing the patrol vehicle again, the driver left the area at a high rate of speed, last seen east on Lake Ave passing Highway 115.Officer had never seen this vehicle in the area before. Logged information of future reference and shift officers.
