Officer Reports 6/3/24 to 6/9/24

6/3…9:26 pm…Zone 4…Sycamore Street: BIS Officer received a call from a resident stating that someone appeared to be taking items from inside a neighbor’s garage. BIS officer arrived at 9:29 pm and saw three males and a female inside the garage. Black Ford with CO plates in the driveway. As BIS officer approached and introduced himself, he heard the female (homeowner) thanking 2 males for their help.  The homeowner’s husband was lying on the garage floor with a walker nearby. The wife stated he was okay. The husband was asked, as well, if he needed any help from the fire department. Stated he was fine and refused any medical attention. BIS officer cleared at 9:50 pm.  It is not known if the call was from a member or non-member.


6/3…11:06 pm…Zone 1…Mayhurst Ave: BIS Officer received a barking dog complaint from a BIS member about a neighbor’s dog. The BIS officer arrived at 11:25 pm but did not hear any dogs barking in the area. Officer patrolled the area but did not detect any suspicious vehicles or activity.  The member did not want a call back. BIS officer cleared at 11:35 pm.


6/4…8:40 pm…Zone 7…Hutton Ave: BIS Officer observed 12-15 juveniles on school property. All ran away upon seeing the BIS officer. The officer picked up several bottles of beer and empty beer bottles they left behind.

6/6…12:54 pm…Zone 5…Cheyenne Mtn. Blvd: BIS Officer received a call from a BIS member of a suspicious male walking east in front of Broadmoor Elementary School. Male described as a WM with short hair and baggy grey clothing. The BIS officer arrived at 12:59 pm, checked numerous streets including Cheyenne Mtn. Blvd, Pourtales Road, Springmeadow Drive and Broadmoor Ave with no contact - unable to locate the male. No other calls received. Officer cleared at 1:08 pm. Checked the area repeatedly throughout shift with no further contact.


6/7…10:26 pm…Zone 5…Sierra Vista Drive: Officer received a call from a BIS member that two WM’s or HM’s late teens/early 20s had just rang the doorbell and tried to open the front door at her residence. Member sent doorbell video of the two males to the BIS officer. The BIS officer arrived at 10:28 pm and began checking the surrounding streets where they were last seen running on Sequoyah Road towards Cheyenne Mtn. Blvd. No contact made with the two male suspects. BIS Officer contacted the member at her house and spoke for several minutes. Male #1 was wearing green shorts, no shirt, had a black shirt pulled over his face and a black ball cap, white shoes. Male #2 was wearing black shorts, black shirt with a white shirt/piece of clothing over his face, white skull cap and white shoes. No other calls of similar incidents received. Officer cleared at 10:45 pm. Continued to patrol the area the remainder of the night and logged for other BIS shift officers.

 

6/8…7:44 am…Zone 8…Marland Road South: Officer received a call from a BIS member reporting a suspicious vehicle parked on a private dirt driveway close to the top of Marland Rd S.  The member was out for a walk when the car was noticed. Vehicle was described as an older BMW, white with Mexico plates, occupied by a HM in his 20’s. Reporting party stated the male gave no indication of problems when asked and drove west towards Cheyenne Mnt. Zoo Rd. BIS officer arrived in the area at 8 am and checked the area but was unable to locate the suspicious vehicle and driver. The vehicle was gone on arrival. Logged for future reference and sharing with fellow BIS Officers.
