10/3…8:59 am…Zone 10…Alta Vista Road: Received a call from a BIS member about a suspicious vehicle and person parked near the barricades at Alta Vista Road and Belle Air Road. The person appeared to be changing clothes. BIS officer arrived at 9:01 am and found a light blue Subaru with CO plates with magnetic signs on the vehicle stating, “Contractor for Colorado Springs Utilities”. Male was located nearby wearing a reflective vest and hart hat, working on a power box. RP was called back and given information about the male and his activity. Officer clear at 9:10 am.

 

10/4…1:15 pm…Zone 10…Count Pourtales Drive: Received a call from a BIS member about a suspicious person, described as a WM, 20’s, 5’10”, wearing a light blue shirt, jeans and a blue bandana around his neck. Reported to be soliciting for pest control services. The BIS officer arrived at 1:20 pm.  Checked the area and numerous side streets.  Was not able to locate the male. No other calls were received. The officer monitored the area for several hours throughout the shift watching for the subject but did not locate him. Logged information for other shift officers.

 

10/4…4:02 pm…Zone 7…Beech Ave: Received a call from a resident in the area (unknown if member) about two suspicious HM’s wearing darker grey clothing with tattoos on their arms. The reporting party (RP) stated the individuals were soliciting, being aggressive and asking personal questions. While responding to the area, the BIS Officer received a second call about these possible same males (similar description) from a BIS member on Pourtales Road. The BIS officer arrived at 4:11 pm and checked the area from Broadmoor Avenue to Pourtales Road. The Officer did not observe or locate anyone matching the description of the two males walking around in the area. At approximately 4:30 pm the BIS Officer did observe a silver Honda Pilot, mid 2000’s model, drive through the stop sign at Broadmoor Avenue and Second street, travelling East on Broadmoor Avenue. The vehicle was occupied by 3 or 4 individuals. One of the passengers had on grey clothing and another passenger had on a light blue shirt with a blue bandana, closely matching the description of the males from the earlier calls. Unable to see the plate number on the vehicle. The vehicle was leaving the Broadmoor area. The officer monitored the area for the vehicle to determine if it returned to the area the remainder of the evening.  Logged information for other shift Officers.  No other calls were received. Officer cleared at 4:35 pm.

 

10/5…1:29 am…Zone 2…Lake Ave: Received a call from a BIS member that for several nights she has been awakened by what sounded like possibly 1 or 2 vehicles drag racing up and down Lake Avenue. After the call with the member was completed, the BIS Officer could hear what sounded like vehicles racing in the area north of his location on Marland Road. It sounded like two vehicles with loud mufflers driving fast and making excessive noise, likely on purpose. The BIS Officer immediately responded but did not see the vehicles. The officer parked off of Lake Ave and Second Street in case the vehicles returned and would then be able to get a description for CSPD and also to deter further hazardous racing. No vehicles were observed on the street, and nothing was heard in the area. No other calls were received. Officer cleared at 1:50 am but continued to monitor for loud vehicles in the area the remainder of the night. Logged information for other shift Officers.

 

10/6…8:20 pm…Zone 4…Old Broadmoor Road: Received a call from a BIS member stating that when he arrived home, he was contacted by a WM 25 years old in a white sedan asking for help because he ran out of gas and asked for a ride to nearest gas station. BIS Officer arrived at 8:22 pm and contacted the male inside a 2005 Chevy Malibu with CO plates. Male stated the gas gauge in the car did not work and they ran out of gas. His male passenger had left with a gas can in order to find gas. BIS Officer found the male passenger at Lake Ave and Strickler Road returning to the car with gas can in hand. Officer provided the male passenger a ride back to the vehicle. Officer stood by while they got the car started and both males left the area in the vehicle. Both thanked the BIS Officer for helping. Reporting BIS member was called back and informed that the males had left the area. Officer cleared at 8:54 pm.
