9/14…4:24 am…Zone 7…Broadmoor Ave: A BIS board member received a message at 11:37 pm from a BIS member about a suspicious vehicle parked on the street that drove off as they came home. Vehicle described as an older model silver sedan with damage to the passenger side, no further description. BIS officer recognized the description as possibly a vehicle that is known to the BIS Officers and is often parked on the street in another area of the Broadmoor Community that BIS serves. At about 11:20 pm this same date, another BIS officer saw the vehicle legally parked in front of a house with nothing suspicious or unusual observed at that time. The vehicle was unoccupied, nothing unusual or suspicious seen in the area. BIS Officers will continue to monitor the vehicle and area for any suspicious activity.

9/14…5:18 pm…Zone 2…Polo Pony Drive: When BIS Officer returned to the office from patrolling, he received a message from a BIS member on the office phone reporting a possibly homeless suspicious male inside of a roll off dumpster in the area. No further description of suspicious male was provided. The BIS Officer immediately responded and arrived at 5:48 pm, no individuals seen in or around the dumpster. BIS Officer checked several streets in the area but was unsuccessful in locating the suspicious male or anyone else in the area. No other calls received on the possibly homeless male. Officer monitored the area for the remainder of the night. BIS urges members to notify BIS Officers of on-going incidents or suspicious activities needing immediate attention by contacting the BIS emergency number at 719-661-0719.

9/15…8:50 pm…Zone 1…Cheyenne Road: Received a call from a BIS member reporting the smell of smoke in the area. The member asked if we had any reports of a fire in the area. As there were no other calls about a fire, the BIS Officer responded and arrived at 8:58 pm and could smell smoke in the area of Highland Street, Mayhurst Ave and Cheyenne Road but did not observe any haze or smoke in the area or other obvious signs of a fire after checking numerous streets. The BIS member was called back and assured there was no fire in the area. No other calls regarding a possible fire were received. Unable to determine the source of the smell of smoke. Officer cleared at 9:10 pm.
